Tampa Bay Buccaneers Clinch Playoffs and NFC South Division

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Carolina Panthers.

In a closely contested matchup throughout the contest, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers clinched a playoff birth after winning the NFC South today in a 30-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

The Bucs started slow in this one but thanks to Mike Evans’ 200 yard and 3 touchdown game, they were able pull it out and secure a playoff slot. It wasn’t pretty, but the Bucs seem to have life after a New Year’s Day drama that saw the game go down to the wire.

Tom Brady played a solid game as well, finishing with 432 yards and three touchdowns all to Mike Evans on 34-of-45 passing. To seal the victory for Tampa Bay, he also ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Although the Bucs still have much to do on the offensive side, today was a good day for them.

Defensively, the Buccaneers struggled at times but were able to come up with key stops and turnovers when they needed to. They also forced a crucial turnover in the fourth quarter, which helped them swing the momentum in their favour. Anthony Nelson’s strip sack on Sam Darnold gave the Bucs hope once more.

With the win, the Buccaneers have clinched the NFC South title and are currently at. 500 will now be looking at the playoffs after the final game of the regular-season. They’ll likely face a tough matchup in round one, but their performance down the stretch makes them a threat to make deep runs.

The loss to the Panthers is hard to swallow, as they could miss the playoffs despite having a strong second half. It will be interesting to see how the Bucs will play next week against the Atlanta Falcons now that the division is clinched. The team could rest players for the first round game. This would be a great move as they look to make deep playoff runs.
